Spirit Food - February 2018
Once you are presented with what the Word of God has to say about an issue, you are responsible for receiving His love, grace, & favor; and the gift of His righteousness. Remember, you are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved by your Heavenly Father.
This month let’s focus on Our Heavenly Father’s Heart towards us!
Matthew 7:11 says “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
This scripture says we are evil because of Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden. When Adam ate of the tree he was instructed not to eat of, he spiritually died, thereby losing his glory covering. You recall in Genesis where they attempted to cover themselves with fig leaves. When they died spiritually, their blood became “sin tainted”. God killed an animal and made bloody animal skin clothing to cover them. This was the first animal sacrifice to cover sin in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, we have been redeemed from sin because of what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross! This is the Gospel (good news) of Christ (Our Redeemer)!
As a minister of the good news from Our Heavenly Father to mankind, I have experienced many occasions or opportunities when witnessing to people about His love. Many of whom, either they, or a close family member are facing a health issue. I’ve heard some pray asking God to shorten their own life enabling the person with the health issue to “get better”. That kind of prayer reflects a lack of knowledge of His love. It appears they do not have a good opinion of God.
How many understand that Our Heavenly Father is not like that, that He didn’t bring on sickness or an accident to teach you something. He desires you to know that He is not the kind of Father. He doesn’t desire you sick and defeated, or to be poor and wanting. He desires to provide for your every need and for you to be blessed in all the areas of your life! He loves you so much that He sent Jesus to redeem us! When we pray “Heavenly Father, I come against this sickness and I ask you for healing (for yourself or for my loved one). We believe Isaiah 53:4 is true, and make it the final authority in this situation. In Jesus Name!”
I call it situational management using His Word. When you accept and believe it, the Word of God has final authority. Whatever the situation in life, He has a word for it. When we accepted Jesus as the Lord of our life, we were redeemed from the curse of the law. We spiritually sit with Jesus in Heavenly Places and when we pray, we pray from victory, not for victory. Jesus has already paid the price on the cross! We are part of His body (the church) while here on this earth to bring His will to pass. Jesus is Our Redeemer, Our High Priest, Our Chief Intercessor with Almighty God. Please understand that these are basic truths of the New Covenant.
I encourage you search the scriptures for His promises to us and have apply them to a situation when needed, just as a mechanic applies a wrench to fix an automobile.
Part of a Shepherd’s position over the sheep entrusted to them is to lead and provide for the sheep. Shepherds are supposed to feed the sheep, not beat them.
God gives us children to help us understand what His Father-heart is like. His joy is to enter into your joy and see you happy. If you, in spite of your faults, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to you when you ask Him!
If you’re reading this, but you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life, and would like to, pray this prayer out loud in an audible voice:
Heavenly Father, your Word says in Romans 10:9-10- “that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, that I would be saved. For with the heart one believes unto salvation.” I believe your Word, Heavenly Father, and confess Jesus Christ (the anointed one and His anointing) as Lord of my life now. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess that I was a sinner, but now I’ve been saved by Your grace, and in Your thoughts, I am now in right standing with You. I denounce Satan and all he stands for. Write my name in the Lamb’s book of Life. In Jesus Name. Amen (so be it).
Congratulations! If this is your first time praying this prayer, please write and let us know!
Should you decide to give and financially support this ministry with gifts given in faith, I join my faith with yours to see the devourer rebuked (Malachi 3:11) and for you to receive a harvest; pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38). Please remember to name your seed!
