Spirit Food - December 2017
Once you are presented with what the Word of God has to say about an issue, you are responsible for receiving His love, grace, & favor; and the gift of His righteousness. Remember, you are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved by your Heavenly Father.
This month, let’s focus on The Reason for The Season!
John 3:16-17 – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Many people are familiar with the first part of this month’s base scripture, however, verse 17 above has not received as much attention or focus.
When mankind demonstrated by his actions that due to his carnal nature he could not keep the law (the Ten Commandments) written on stone, God implemented His redemption plan for mankind. God sent Jesus into this world through the Virgin Mary to redeem mankind.
The birth of Jesus is documented for us in Luke 2:1-20.
In Genesis where the story of creation was provided in the Bible, God used words to bring creation into existence. When it came to man, this was the first time it’s recorded that God touched His creation. Adam was formed by God, and then God breathed His life giving Spirit into Adam. Adam became a Spirit filled man, covered in the glory of God! Then He blessed Adam and instructed him to tend to the garden, giving Adam a function.
God had instructed Adam that he could eat of every tree in the Garden of Eden except the tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil. God had stated to him that if he ate of that tree, he would surely die (Gen 2:17). When Adam and Eve ate of that tree, they didn’t instantly drop dead physically, their glory covering departed from their physical bodies. This glory covering was the beautiful heavenly garment from God, and was similar to the covering Jesus had during the transfiguration on top of Mt. Herman (Matt 17:2). By being disobedient to God and acting upon their encounter with Satan, they now had a carnal nature from Satan.
When their covering of glory went away, they recognized they were naked, and fear entered their lives. They had disobeyed God by eating of that tree, and had given control over the earth to Satan. Mankind had sinned, and now had tainted blood.
Because the nature of mankind now had sin, and the wages of sin is death, for justice to be served, something had to physically die to provide blood for the covering for sin. The Bible informs us that Adam and Eve sewed fig leaves together in an attempt to cover their nakedness. Mankind now had a carnal nature, and would from that time forward, attempt to provide for himself and be his own god. God’s way to cover their sin and nakedness was to use the blood of an animal. This also provided animal skin(s) for the covering of their bodies.
God’s permanent answer for the sin of mankind was to send Jesus, His Son into the world through the Virgin Mary. Mary had been formed in her Mother’s womb for this purpose. Once she agreed with God’s plan for her life, the Holy Spirit came upon her, filled her with God’s holy seed, and she became pregnant; with the function and purpose to give birth to Jesus. When God impregnated the Virgin Mary through Holy Spirit, it was with untainted seed. Science has now proven that no blood from the mother enters the baby (only nourishment goes in, and waste comes out). Therefore, as Jesus was developing within the Virgin Mary’s womb, Jesus was not contaminated with tainted blood. This means that Jesus was born without a carnal nature. A carnal nature is a sin nature. Jesus could become a sin offering for mankind because He was not tainted.
Jesus fulfilled the law (The Old Covenant) and established a New Covenant. This New Covenant (Heb 8:10-13) was between God and Jesus, instead of between God and mankind (leaving mankind out of the equation), except to believe and receive. The law had come through Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus our redeemer (John 1:17). Mankind, as individuals, can choose Jesus as their redeemer and once again have a glorious relationship with their creator.
As we enter this Christmas season, let us keep our focus on and celebrate the birth of Our Savior Jesus the Christ, and remember His coming resulted in providing us a New Covenant.
If you’re reading this, but you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life, and would like to, pray this prayer out loud in an audible voice:
Heavenly Father, your Word says in Romans 10:9-10- “that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, that I would be saved. For with the heart one believes unto salvation.” I believe your Word, Heavenly Father, and confess Jesus Christ (the anointed one and His anointing) as Lord of my life now. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess that I was a sinner, but now I’ve been saved by Your grace, and in Your thoughts, I am now in right standing with You. I denounce Satan and all he stands for. Write my name in the Lamb’s book of Life. In Jesus Name. Amen (so be it).
Congratulations! If this is your first time praying this prayer, please write and let us know!
Should you decide to give and financially support this ministry with gifts given in faith, I join my faith with yours to see the devourer rebuked (Malachi 3:11) and for you to receive a harvest; pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38). Please remember to name your seed!
