February 2017 Spirit Food

Once you are presented with what the Word of God has to say about an issue, you are responsible for receiving His love, grace, & favor; and the gift of His righteousness. Remember, you are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved by your Heavenly Father.

This month let’s focus on divine health and healing.

Isaiah 53:5 - … The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His Stripes we are healed.

In Isaiah 52:14, it says Jesus’ visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men.

In Isaiah 53:2, it says … Jesus hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. Which indicates to me that he was beaten so terribly, Jesus was unpleasant to look at.

In Psalms 129:3, it says: The blowers plowed my back: they made long their furrows.

In Psalms 22:17, it says: I can count all my bones. They look and stare at Me.

Visualize this if you can and understand that Jesus paid this price to redeem mankind from sin … as Jesus was thinking about you when the soldiers tied Him to the scourging post.

What happened to Him was not just the whip stripping the flesh off His bare back, but your sicknesses and diseases being put on Him. Each time He was whipped, every form of sickness and disease, including arthritis, cancer, diabetes, bird flu and dengue fever, came upon Him. “The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

Every curse of sickness that was supposed to fall on you fell on Jesus instead. He bore every one of those stripes, so that you can walk in divine health all the days of your life. The price has been paid so that you can rise up and get out of your bed of affliction!

Healing is your right (if you have made Jesus the LORD of your life) because Jesus has paid the price for your healing. So if the devil puts the thought in your head that you cannot be healed, just declare, “Jesus has paid for my healing. Disease has no right to be in my body. I am healed in Jesus’ name!”

Your words have power … remember, mankind was created in the image of God, and although in the Garden of Eden, mankind gave his authority over to Satan, Jesus’ coming as a perfect man with untainted blood and fulfilling all the requirements of the law, enabled Jesus to pay the price for all of your sins (past, present and future), redeeming us from the curse of the law. Sickness falls under the curse of the law.

So, how do we live a life in divine health? By establishing a deeper relationship with Our Heavenly Father and feeding on Jesus. What do I mean by that? We establish a deeper relationship with by learning more about Him through His Word and investing time in practicing His presence. He is your creator … He desires to have you recognize Him as living within you (via the Holy Spirit if you have accepted Jesus as the LORD of your life), and share your life with Him. He loves you so much that He sent Jesus to die, paying the price to redeem you! So, what do I mean by feeding on Jesus? Besides investing the time in His Word to establish a deeper relationship with Him, He encourages us to partake of His body and blood (Holy Communion).

In Luke 22:19, it indicates that we are to take Holy Communion in remembrance of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 11:29–30 - For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.

So then, what is an unworthy manner? Not discerning the Lord’s body. How are we supposed to properly discern the Lord’s body? By understanding that when you chew on the “wafer” or unleavened bread (that most churches use), you should be remembering the price Jesus paid for you, and that when he rose from the dead, he was raised perfect and sits in Heaven as the 1st perfect man, to be our advocate with His/Our Heavenly Father! Enabling us to be healthy and prosperous!

Many believers don’t understand the wafer or unleavened bread represents the Lord’s body, and that it is for their health and healing. And when they partake without discerning this truth, they partake in an unworthy manner. The reverse is true: If they discern accurately the Lord’s body, then they will be strong and healthy, and live long.

Likewise, when you partake of the cup, you should be remembering that the shed blood of Jesus, cleansed you from all your sins (past, present and future)!

Unfortunately, the church down through the years has misconstrued this teaching and taught that if you have sin in your life, you are unworthy and cannot partake of the Holy Communion, lest you become weak and sick, and even die! Religion has turned what was supposed to be a blessing, into instilling a sense of fear or curse. Because of this, many Christians are afraid to come to the Lord’s table and are therefore robbed of the health-giving power of the Holy Communion.

There is no such thing as a worthy person (mankind being of a carnal nature)! The best of us still “miss the mark” and fail occasionally. So unworthy people are the only people who partake of the Lord’s Supper. However, remember, Jesus died for unworthy people, therefore, He has qualified those of us who take Him as our righteousness to partake of every benefit that He died to give us.

So it is not a matter of whether you are worthy or unworthy to partake, but how you partake. Come to the Lord’s table with boldness and partake because Jesus has qualified you with His precious blood. Don’t treat it as a ritual, but release your faith for health and healing as you discern that Jesus’ body was broken, so that yours can be healthy and whole today. When you partake like this, you are partaking in a worthy manner, and you will not be weak or sickly, or die prematurely!

If you’re reading this, but you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life, and would like to, pray this prayer out loud in an audible voice:

Heavenly Father, your Word says in Romans 10:9-10- “that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, that I would be saved. For with the heart one believes unto salvation.” I believe your Word, Heavenly Father, and confess Jesus Christ (the anointed one and His anointing) as Lord of my life now. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess that I was a sinner, but now I’ve been saved by Your grace, and in Your thoughts, I am now in right standing with You. I denounce Satan and all he stands for. Write my name in the Lamb’s book of Life. In Jesus Name. Amen (so be it).

Congratulations! If this is your first time praying this prayer, please write and let us know!

Should you decide to give and financially support this ministry with gifts given in faith, I join my faith with yours to see the devourer rebuked (Malachi 3:11) and for you to receive a harvest; pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38). Please remember to name your seed!
