The Present Truth
2 Peter 1:12 (KJV) - Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. The present truth – is that truth which is for us now; and if there is a present truth, it means that there was a former truth - an older truth. There are many covenants in the Bible:
The Noahic Covenant – (Genesis 9:1-17
The Abrahamic Covenant – (Genesis 12:3 and 15:5-6)
The Mosaic Covenant – (Exodus 19-24)
The Palestinian Covenant – (Deuteronomy 30:1-10)
The Davidic Covenant – (2 Samuel 7:12-13, 1 Kings 9:4-9; 11:4-8; Psalms 2; 16; and 110) The two covenants we'll focus on today are the covenant of law, generally referred to as The Ten Commandments found in Exodus 20 which stated:

and the covenant of grace – The New Covenant states:

The Bible is divided into two different categories – The Old Testament and New Testament – or New Covenant. The New Covenant contains the covenant of grace. Jeremiah 31:31 foretells of the New Covenant to come. Hebrews 8:6-13 spells it out – a document it for all to read plainly:

6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
The He is Jesus. He and His Father (God – The Father) created this New Covenant between the Father and Himself, in which man has no part, except to believe and receive.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
I will make – Believers – the Body of Christ – The Church
I will put – my laws into their hearts and write them in their hearts
I will be – to them a God
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
As when a person accepts Jesus as the Lord of their life, the Holy Spirit comes to live on the inside of that person. Their dead spirit is reborn unto the love of God.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
I will be – their redeemer from the curse of sin and remember their sins and iniquities no more!
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
I will put in their hearts the motivation – for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13) I will be their God and they shall be my people. You will be different from the people of this world. If you are sick, I will make you well. I will teach you and put My statues in your heart. I will protect you. A person who comes to God through Jesus, must believe He is. It is Jesus who John declares to be the Word made flesh. Therefore if Jesus is the Word made flesh, we can transpose His name in John 1:1-3 and it would read like this: In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God (remember The Trinity). Jesus was in the beginning with God. But you have to believe in His Word.
If you’re reading this, but you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life, and would like to, pray this prayer out loud in an audible voice:
Heavenly Father, your Word says in Romans 10:9-10- “that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, that I would be saved. For with the heart one believes unto salvation.” I believe your Word, Heavenly Father, and confess Jesus Christ (the anointed one and His anointing) as Lord of my life now. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess that I was a sinner, but now I’ve been saved by Your grace, and in Your thoughts, I am now in right standing with You. I denounce Satan and all he stands for. In Jesus Name. Amen (so be it).
