Spirit Food - June 2017

Once you are presented with what the Word of God has to say about an issue, you are responsible for receiving His love, grace, & favor; and the gift of His righteousness. Remember, you are greatly blessed, highly favored, and deeply loved by your Heavenly Father.

This month, let’s focus on 2017 as being the year of Jubilee!

Leviticus 25:8 – “Count off seven sabbath years—seven times seven years—so that the seven sabbath years amount to a period of forty-nine years.”

Leviticus 25:10 - “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.”

It blesses me: that Leviticus 25:10 says “all its inhabitants” and “each of you.” That includes you! Perhaps it was your health that you lost. Well, in the year of Jubilee, that is going to return to you!

God’s Word paints you a faith picture of liberty and freedom to come in all areas of your life; it also gives us the keys to walk in His Jubilee blessings this year.

A little history: In 1917 British General Allenby (a Christian) led the Battle of Jerusalem which occurred during the British Empire’s "Jerusalem Operations" against the Ottoman Empire. General Allenby concurred the Ottoman Empire, however, the Jerusalem people (basically) couldn’t hold it and it again fell.

Then, in 1967, 50 years later, Israel regained Jerusalem during the Arab-Israeli war, and has maintained possession since. From 1967 to 2017 … is 50 years.

Prior to 1917, I’ve been unable to find any records of Jubilee being celebrated in Jerusalem since biblical days.

By the Gregorian calendar, this is the year 2017, but according to the Jewish calendar, it’s the year 5777. How is this significant? Well, in Bible numerics, the number 5 represents God’s grace, while the number 7 stands for completion and rest. And interestingly, the number 17 represents victory.

What all these add up to is this: to experience victory, unprecedented freedom, and God’s abundant grace this year, the very first thing He wants you to do, is to REST in the complete work of His Son. Believing that what Jesus did on the cross for mankind, redeemed mankind from the curse of sin.

Understand that when you place your trust and rest in Him, He works; when you work, He rests! When you become stressed and fretful, nothing happens. But when you rest in His faithfulness to turn things around for you, you find His grace of most effect to you!

The Jubilee year is ushered in with the blowing of the ram’s horn (see Lev. 25:9). The blowing of the ram’s horn (illustrated in the picture above) is a picture of Jesus’ death and finished work at the cross. Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, was slain for our sins, so that God’s grace and goodness can be ushered into our lives.

When Jesus died on the cross, rabbinical teachings inform us that it was at the time of the evening sacrifice; and at the temple, the ram’s horn was blown . Mankind needs to comprehend Jesus, being the perfect Lamb of God, at that very sound (of the ram’s horn blowing), every chain, shackle, and bondage of lack, addiction, sickness, and depression was destroyed forever, for all of mankind.

Therefore, to see your freedom manifest this year, keep hearing and proclaiming the finished work as you stay at rest. And just as the walls of Jericho came tumbling down with the blowing of the ram’s horn (Hebrews 11:30), you’ll see your breakthrough and miracles in your life as you continue to hear Our Heavenly Father’s love and grace message preached.

The root word for Jubilee in Hebrew is yabal, which means “to flow,” the way a river does. Jubilee means freedom! This freedom is based off the blood of the sin offering. Jesus was our sin offering! In rabbinical teachings, every debt was cancelled, and every slave was set free! Jubilee means it is the year that free favors of God profusely abound! Therefore, this year, as you rest in Christ and hear His Word preached, you will find Him leading you by His Spirit to your breakthrough and victory.

Being led by the Holy Spirit is experiencing His peace as you proceed in your daily activities. You may find Him instructing you to drink more water, as you’ve not been drinking enough water lately. Or He may give you a peace about going to bed early because you’ve been having late nights recently. Or, when you have to make a choice between A and B, you’ll sense His increasing peace in the choice that is right for you, and a discomfort toward the choice that isn’t. Be expectant this year that you give your focus towards Him and deepen your relationship with Him, that He’ll guide and protect you. His leading will never go against His Word, and will always bring peace, life, and good success.

Your breakthrough is NOW because Jesus is on your side! You don’t have to wait for some distant time in the future to experience the goodness of your Savior. Because of His finished work on the cross (if you have accepted Jesus as the LORD of your life) you are under Jesus’ constant supply of grace!

2 Corinthians 6:2 says “…now is the day of salvation.”

The word “salvation” does not just mean to be saved from Hell. The Greek word sozo (where we get our word salvation) is all-encompassing. It means help, healing, wholeness, provision, preservation and protection here on this side of heaven!

So when the Bible promises that “now is the day of salvation”, it is saying:

  • Healing for your body is available today.

  • Help for your marriage is available today.

  • Protection for your children is available today.

  • Provision and favor for your job are available.

You can open your arms wide and receive grace for you breakthrough because Jesus is with you today … in this moment … right where you are … and He is for you!

Jesus is the great I AM!

Focus you attention on Him because He is your resurrection and He is you life!

If you’re reading this, but you have not made Jesus the Lord of your life, and would like to, pray this prayer out loud in an audible voice:

Heavenly Father, your Word says in Romans 10:9-10- “that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead, that I would be saved. For with the heart one believes unto salvation.” I believe your Word Heavenly Father and confess Jesus Christ (the anointed one and His anointing) as Lord of my life now. I believe that You raised Him from the dead. I confess that I was a sinner, but now I’ve been saved by Your grace, and in Your thoughts, I am now in right standing with You. I denounce Satan and all he stands for. Write my name in the Lamb’s book of Life. In Jesus Name. Amen (so be it).

Congratulations! If this is your first time praying this prayer, please write and let us know!

Should you decide to give and financially support this ministry with gifts given in faith, I join my faith with yours to see the devourer rebuked (Malachi 3:11) and for you to receive a harvest; pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38).
